African SLM resources

Our faith partners in Africa are working to improve their people's livelihoods while helping them manage their environment more sustainably. Here are some of the sustainable land management (SLM) resources they have produced to protect the land and biodiversity for today's generations, as well as those to come.

  • The Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania has been establishing women-led tree nurseries. Here is the manual on tree nursery establishment which the Church produced as part of the women's training.

  • The Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania also gave the women some training in entrepreneurship skills.

  • The Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council has produced a training manual on tree and vegetable production as part of its eco mosque pilot project.
